Driveway and Patio Cleaning in Ohio
Driveway and patio cleaning in Ohio removes the road salt, algae, oil, rust spots and mineral film that freeze-thaw winters and humid summers leave on concrete, pavers, brick, flagstone and asphalt. Fast Pro matches the pressure to the surface, keeps wash water out of storm drains, gives you a free quote first, and walks the job with you before we leave.
Ohio driveway and patio problems, and what causes them
Freeze-thaw, salt and shade do most of the work on Ohio hardscape. Here are the six we get called about most.
Winter salt residue
A concrete trade sheet says to hose off salt that cars track onto driveways and garage slabs. Salt with freeze-thaw cycles is a leading cause of flaking concrete.
Slick, green patios
PROSOCO says algae thrives where there is moisture and a food source, especially in areas not in constant sun. On a shaded patio it turns slippery when wet.
Oil on driveways
Oil soaks into porous concrete, so a plain rinse leaves a shadow. PROSOCO says embedded stains need a stain-specific remover. We pre-treat first and tell you honestly what to expect.
White haze on pavers
Efflorescence leaves a white haze. Wausau Tile says it usually corrects itself with time, and that new pavers can show it for the first 18 to 24 months. Rock salt can also cause it.
Rust spots
PROSOCO says surface rust stains lift with a rust remover, but deeply embedded rust is difficult to remove and may reappear.
Worn joint sand
Pressure and weather wash sand out of paver joints. We check the joints after the wash and tell you if they need refilling.
Every driveway and patio surface in Ohio
Pressure matched to the material, from broom-finish concrete to flagstone.
Concrete driveways and walks
Surface cleaner and pressure for an even finish.
Pavers
A lower setting, then a check on the joint sand. W&G Paver, an Ohio clay paver maker, says high pressure may damage pavers and joints.
Brick
Lower pressure after a test spot, since old mortar is soft.
Flagstone and natural stone
Tested first. Acid cleaners and heavy pressure can damage stone, so we go gently.
Stamped and colored concrete
A lower setting and a test spot, to protect the color and the pattern.
Asphalt driveways
Assessed first, then a gentle low-pressure rinse. We do not seal or sealcoat.
Driveway and patio cleaning built around Ohio winters
Salt and freezing water are what wear on Ohio driveways. Moisture freezes in the surface, deicers make it worse, and the top layer flakes off. A concrete trade sheet names non-air-entrained and poorly cured concrete as the most exposed.
Cleaning removes salt residue and grime. It does not repair concrete that has already scaled, and we will say so. Ohio Concrete tells owners not to put deicers on new concrete in its first winter, because they cause scaling.
On pavers we go lower, because pressure blasts out the joint sand. On natural stone we avoid acid. Wash water stays out of storm drains, and we check your city's water rules before we book.
Spring cleanup
Early spring, after the thaw, is when tracked-in salt shows most. We rinse it off before it sits.
New concrete
Ohio Concrete says no deicers in the first winter. Use clean sand for traction instead.
Storm drain rules
Ohio EPA guidance says power-washing wastewater cannot go into a storm sewer.
Asphalt
Asphalt is a different surface. It gets a gentle rinse, not a blast.

What cleaning can and can't do
A good cleaning lifts growth and dirt. A few problems need extra steps.
Cleaning will help
- Algae and mildew
- Dirt and tire marks
- Salt residue and dust film
- Light, recent oil
Plan for extra steps
- Flaked or scaled concrete, which cleaning cannot repair
- Old oil that soaked in, which may leave a shadow
- Deep rust, which may reappear
- Worn joint sand that needs refilling
We will tell you what to expect before we quote. Call us and describe it.
What goes into an Ohio driveway and patio cleaning quote
We quote every job by phone, because a plain concrete drive and a paver patio are different jobs. These are the factors we weigh.
Surface area
Square footage sets the base price.
Material
Pavers and stone take longer than plain concrete.
Stains and runoff control
Oil and rust each need their own treatment. Slopes and nearby drains change how we contain wash water.
Access and setup
Furniture, plants and no outdoor spigot change the setup time.

Call 813-536-7337Scheduling and coverage
Do you serve all of Ohio?
We work across the state, including Cleveland, Akron, Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, Toledo and Youngstown. Call with your address and we will confirm coverage and the soonest opening.
How soon can you come out?
Call early in the day and we will give you the soonest slot we have. We will tell you plainly if the schedule is full.
What happens if it rains or freezes?
Light rain does not stop an exterior job. Storms, high wind and temperatures where water could freeze on the surface do. We reschedule at no charge and let you know the same day.
Do I need to be home?
No, as long as we can reach the exterior and an outdoor spigot. Please close windows, move cars and bring in small items.
Methods and safety
Does road salt damage my driveway?
It can. Freeze-thaw with moisture and deicing salts promotes scaling, most on poorly cured or non-air-entrained concrete. Hose off tracked-in salt, and skip deicers on a new slab's first winter.
What is the white haze on my pavers?
Usually efflorescence, salts carried to the surface. Use a cleaner made for concrete pavers, test first, and rinse at low pressure. It usually fades with time and can return.
Does cleaning remove the sand between my pavers?
Pressure can. W&G Paver says high pressure may compromise sand-filled joints. We check the joints afterward. Polymeric sand needs 32 degrees F or above and a dry surface, per one maker.
Can you pressure wash an asphalt driveway?
Gently. We keep it low and do not blast it. We do not sealcoat. SealMaster says new asphalt should cure 30 to 60 days before sealing.
Pricing, insurance and water rules
Is it legal to pressure wash a driveway in Ohio?
Yes in general, but wash water cannot reach the storm sewer, and water-use rules are local. In 2024 Hillsboro banned washing driveways during a water emergency. We check your city's rules before we book.
How long should I wait before sealing?
Follow the sealer's label. ASCC says decorative concrete needs 12 to 24 hours of dry time before sealing and 24 hours after a power wash on a reseal. Rust-Oleum's penetrating sealer says 50 to 90 degrees F air temperature and no rain within 24 hours. Sealing is not one of our services.
How much does driveway and patio cleaning cost in Ohio?
It depends on size, material, how much growth or buildup there is and how easy the site is to reach. Call for a free quote and we will explain which of those drive your price.
Do Ohio water and runoff rules affect the job?
Two things apply. First, Ohio EPA guidance says power-washing wastewater cannot go into a storm sewer, even with biodegradable soap, and Columbus code bars any discharge to the storm sewer that is not entirely stormwater. We keep wash water out of storm drains. Second, water-use rules are local. In 2024 the city of Hillsboro banned washing driveways during a water emergency. We check your city's current rules before we book.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Fast Pro Pressure Washing is licensed and insured. Ask for proof of insurance with your quote and we will send it.
Do you guarantee the work?
Yes. If something does not look right after the job, contact us and we come back to fix it at no charge.
